Popcorn
Today someone showed me a video of how street vendors in Korea popcorn make popcorn. Although it is a Chinese method, it is popular in Korea as well.
This video does a better job of explaining and I couldn’t embed the short version. What I realized as I watched the video was that it was very similar to how my emotions and thoughts about Korea and this trip have been.
Bottled up and compressed for so long are the questions about who my birth mom was. Did I have bio siblings? Why was I abandoned? Why was I sent to the US? Was I considered trash in Korea? On and on it went. Like being compressed and heated up in a crucible. Then literally the final heating here in Korea. And on this trip, it’s like there was a pop that caused all my questions and emotions to come out.
And now I can’t get them back in. They are leaking everywhere.
